Cermaq: Uncertainty continues for Canadian aquaculture

Industry arguments and science-based facts have been rejected by the country’s government, says CEO Steven Rafferty 

Following the Government of Canada’s announcement of five-year term aquaculture licences and a ban on open net-pen salmon farming in British Columbia (BC) coastal waters from 30 June 2029, producer Cermaq has said it is “deeply concerned” about the future of the sector in region.
