More than 120 aquaculture sector workers in Egypt have successfully completed tilapia welfare training with the help of the Tilapia Welfare Egypt project

Run by FAI in partnership with Ethical Seafood Research and officially launched in February 2024, the Tilapia Welfare Egypt project aims to overcome challenges in improving welfare through the use of surveys, farm visits and training.

Egypt is the top tilapia producer in Africa and one of the top three in the world.
