Alaska reports very low salmon harvest

State’s 2024 commercial harvest is 25% lower than the pre-season harvest projection of 135.7 million fish

A total of 101.2 million salmon were harvested in Alaska this year, a 56% decrease from the 2023 total harvest of 232.2 million salmon, according to the preliminary harvest figures published by the Alaska Department of Fish and Game (ADF&G).
