Wild salmon catch up whilst farmed sector struggles

Wild catch of salmon and related species has risen by 7% to 5.2 million tonnes in 2023, according to seafood data analyst, Kontali

The increase in wild catch was driven primarily by pink salmon which is up 169% to 690,000 tonnes.

In contrast the farmed sector has remained fairly stable with a slight decrease of 0.8% compared to the previous year.
