The S-1000 is aimed at boats and processors selling quality fish.

The machine is affordable, compact and the company says that it uses less electricity than any other slurry machine on the market. It also comes as a plug and play for ease of installation.

Using Surry Ice has proven to be an effective quality boost for whitefish, pelagic, shellfish, on-shore processing and salmon processing.

Slurry Ice Systems recently delivered a S16 system to the Þórunn Sveinsdóttir, a 40m newbuild from Karstensens Denmark, for Icelandic owners. This system will be used for chilling the fish on the work deck and fish hold.

Slurry Ice System’s managing director, James Duthie, told WF that the company has also won the contract to supply a S20 system to another newbuild , FV Golenes, a Norwegian pelagic vessel to be delivered later this year.

The company also recently rebuilt an S8 system onboard the Scottish vessel Starlight Rays. James told WF that the owners are delighted with productions and fish quality.

This use of Slurry Ice has led to the following benefits:

  • Enhanced quality
  • Firmer fish
  • Longer storage if needed
  • Longer shelf life
  • Less bacteria growth
