Impacts Manager MarinTrust
Dr. Nicola Clark is the Impacts Manager at MarinTrust, a third-party business-to-business certification scheme for responsible marine ingredient sourcing and production. In this role, she oversees and manages the Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL) system, ensuring the programme’s impacts align with the company’s strategy and guide the development of the standards. Additionally, she leads the MarinTrust Improver Programme, coordinating with industry-led Fishery Improvement Projects (FIPs) to enhance small pelagic fisheries that contribute to the seafood supply chain.
Nicola graduated from the University of Leicester in 2010 with a Master’s in Geology and earned her PhD in Geology in 2014. Following a postdoctoral research position at Nagoya University in Japan, she joined MarinTrust (then known as IFFO RS) in 2017 as the Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL) Coordinator. She transitioned to the role of Impacts Manager in 2019.
