Greener Fishing

A word from the editor…

We’ve seen significant progress in the commercial fishing space in recent times, particularly with regards to establishing best- and responsible-practice. Huge credit to the industry, as these important advancements have not only continued to take place, but have indeed accelerated, despite some unprecedented headwinds, with fishers and related ventures facing considerable pressures on many levels.

This latest World Fishing & Aquaculture Special Report shines a light on some key initiatives that have contributed to reshaping the business of fishing and elevating its sustainability credentials. And what was clear as we put these Greener Fishing pages together was that innovation and new technology will become even more important to this blue food sector’s success as we move forward. Also ringing loud and true is the need to better communicate its many positive actions. As such, our team looks forward to learning about and sharing many more insights in future reports and WF’s online news pages.
