ALVAR develops and commercializes a misting technology for disinfecting food processing facilities and trawlers. The mist is a mixture of water and disinfectant which is evenly distributed around the area. Thanks to its very thin droplets, the mist kills bacteria in difficult-to-reach areas, gaps in the machinery, under surfaces, the air above the production area, and the ventilation system.
Besides improving food safety by combatting bacteria (Salmonella, Listeria, E. Coli etc), viruses and fungi, ALVAR increases sustainability by saving water and chemicals. The technology increases automation by performing the disinfection process without the need for manpower.
ALVAR is compatible with most disinfectant chemicals available on the market, like peracetic acid, chlorine, hypochlorite, and hydrogen peroxide among others.
