In the past three years companies have delayed bigger investments because of the undetermined future of the quota-system, but all over there is a need to update and renew equipment; we sense a lot of interest in our machines and we are certain we will land some sales contracts in the months following the exhibition.

We sold all the equipment on our stand at the 2011 Icelandic Fisheries Exhibition. Big companies like Isfelagid, Vinnslustodin and Huginn in the Westman Islands, along with Skinney=Thinganes and HB Grandi in Vopnafjordur all have our machines on their shopping list. We’ve already sold equipment worth ISK 25 million and have contracts for at least the same amount in the pipeline.

The Marine Stewardship Council (www.msc.org) was delighted to be present at ICEFISH 2011. Throughout the three days we welcomed a variety of producers, NGOs, Icelandic consultancies and overseas scientists. The Mexican VIP delegation, key players from the Mexican commercial fishing industry, also stopped by. Every presence in Iceland builds new and better bridges between MSC and the Icelandic Fishery Business. We are looking forward to move on with this positive experience from ICEFISH 2011.
