Since its inception in 1984, the Icelandic Fisheries Exhibition has become one of the world's leading fishing events. Held only once every three years the exhibition will return in September 2020 to Kópavogur, Iceland

The 13th Icelandic Fisheries Exhibition is the longest running international fishing exhibition in Iceland. 'IceFish', as the exhibition is known, has developed into an event that showcases every aspect of the commercial fishing industry and seafood sector, from locating, catching, processing and packaging, right through to the marketing and distribution of the end product.

The last exhibition, held in 2017, saw a 41% increase in overseas exhibitors and a business focused attendance of 13,621 from 52 countries. Around 500 companies, products and brands were showcased over 13,000 m2 of inside and outside exhibition space. The 2020 exhibition is expected to welcome an even larger audience from around the globe.

New for 2020 IceFish will welcome a dedicated area for Processing/Value added/Fish farming and By-products, this is to recognise and reflect developments within the industry and to align with the 4th edition of the Fishwaste for Profit Conference taking place on day 2 and 3 of the exhibition.

Marianne Rasmussen-Coulling, Events Director, Mercator Media organiser of the Icelandic Fisheries Exhibition commented "IceFish has developed into an integral event for companies involved within the Commercial Fishing, Aquaculture and Seafood industry both within Iceland and internationally. As the only event of this calibre we are looking forward to connecting with old and new customers."

The Icelandic Fisheries Awards will take place immediately after the closure of the first day of the exhibition. The Awards were first introduced in 1999 to recognise and award excellence in the Icelandic and international fishing industries. The stature of this event and its recipients has only grown over the years and now the awards are hotly contested and seen as a true accolade, with winners using their success to promote their company and products.

The 4th Fish Waste for Profit conference will also take place during 2020 IceFish. From the launch in 2014 the conference continues to address Iceland's pioneering ability to find commercially viable utilisation of fish by-products, and has now grown into a one-and-a-half day event culminating with a technical visit on the final day.
