The company's focus is on servicing all sectors of the fleet, with a range that covers everything from inshore jigging boats all the way up to the largest purse seiners. According to managing director Gunnar Skúlason, Ísfell doesn't stop at fishing gear, but also carries an inventory of stores the industry requires, from liferafts to lifting gear solutions and strapping machines and straps.
As well as Ísfell's base in Hafnarfjörður and the network around the coast, the company has added to this with a branch at Sisimiut in Greenland with Hanseraq Enoksen who also runs the Angunnguaq AS fishing company. The choice of Sisimuit was the obvious one, as this is a deep water port that is ice-free most of the year, and a frequent port of call for trawlers fishing in Greenlandic and Canadian waters.

Gunnar Skúlason commented that Greenland has already become a strong market for Ísfell's trawl and longline gear and the Mustad Autoline autolining systems that they took over the dealership for last year.

Ísfell has an active group of partner companies in neighbouring countries, Bridon-Bekaert in UK, Mustad Autoline in Norway, and French trawl door manufacturer Morgère, as well as Selstad AS, Garware Ropes and Cotesi. The most recent addition to the list is a partnership with Kaliningrad fishing gear supplier Fishering Service.

‘The IceFish exhibition is an important event for us and we place a great deal of importance on bringing our overseas suppliers to Iceland for it. It's an opportunity for us and for them to meet our customers and for us to present products and innovations,” Gunnar Skúlason said.

“IceFish provides an important business environment for people to meet and discuss. We have always found this to be a very useful event that's both enjoyable and great for doing business.”
