The Icelandic Fisheries Exhibition,#IceFish17, is very pleased to welcome a new Minister of Fisheries in Iceland, Þorgerður Katrín Gunnarsdóttir, and looks forward to a fruitful and pleasant collaboration with her and her ministry as the preparations for Iceland's best fisheries show are in full swing (don't forget to register!). Minister Gunnarsdóttir sends #IceFish warm greetings and adds:
"The fishing industry has been the principal pillar of welfare and prosperity of the Icelandic nation throughout the centuries and remains so. It is particularly satisfying to observe how energetic and progressive this basic industry has become. There is a great deal of innovation and entrepreneurship in that field that enables us to utilise the resource in economically viable ways, but first and foremost in harmony with nature. That has been our aspiration all along and will be the prerequisite for further growth in the future."
