“We're the oldest and largest fuel company in Iceland,” said Skeljungur sales manager Thorsteinn Pétursson.
The company goes back to 1928 under its present form, and before that was simply HF Shell, giving it an unbroken century of of supplying fuel. Its marine services are a key part of its activities in a country where fishing is a primary industry sector, and Skeljungur offers round-the-clock services every day of the year to supply fuel, lubrication and associated services. Fuel is either pumped direct from storage facilities, or by truck, making fuel supply available in even the most remote areas.
Skeljungur is also a regular at IceFish, having more than once come away with the trophy for the exhibition's best stand - and Skeljungur's stand tends to become a hot spot at each exhibition.“It's an important meeting point for us to see our customers from all over Iceland, and we go the extra distance to look after them. We have one of the larger stands, and we have a happy hour at the end of every day when we offer coffee, drinks and snacks.”
“This exhibition is a valuable event for Skeljungur, and we like to make an effort to do it well so that we stand out,” he said.
